What a date!
And moreover a warm and sunny sunday! My birthday!
Our first day of autumn holidays. We were on a Danish island and had arrived just one day before.
In the morning the kids woke me up and demanded to get up soon to open the parcels. So I quickly visited the bathroom and returned to the living room where the family and gathered around a very nice birthday table.
I opened the smaller parcels which we had brought with us: something to read, of course („Die letzten Tage von Pompeji“ by Edward Bulwer-Lytton and „Die Kinder der Elefantenhüter“ by Peter Hoeg), something to write down what I have read (a Mole.skine Book Journal), some chocolates and some letters written by relatives and friends. We even had a Vienna Sacher Cake ordered vis the Internet.
After a great breakfast we went up the highest „hill“ of the island which is about 100 meters above sea level. However, the view was great and we just enjoyed ourselves.
After lunch we sat in the sun – reading. It was really warm, so we had coffee outside. Then we visited a play ground in the middle of the woods. The kids climbed and ran and had a lot of fun. I even taught them how to carve.
After dinner we even walked to the beach to watch a beautiful sun set and in the dunes we observed a rabbit and probably a fox. That was great.
And yes, the rest of our holiday week was great, too – it rained only on the last day, so we spent most of the time outside, walking, skating…
What a date!
